International Demolition Derby

The roar of engines will take the Cleveland County Fair Grandstand by storm when the International Demolition Derby rolls into town. The competition hits the field Friday, September 26, and Thursday, October 2, at 7:30pm. All tickets are $5. In the past, professionals from outside our area have taken the winner’s circle; but this year, many locals have honed their skills hoping to take the lead. The 2008 Demo Derby at the Cleveland County Fair is setting up to be one of the most exciting matches in history – a performance that will not soon be forgotten. The Cleveland County Fair’s Demo Derby has the reputation of being among the toughest contests in the Southeast. For the contestants, while the prize money is important, the prestige of this Derby is worth even more.

The September 26th competition will feature several heats of fender bending Demolition Derby, plus a special, all ladies, Powder Puff Contest. On October 2nd, the Derby will host a big new event which will feature only American-made 1980 models and newer, as well as contests between “mini cars”. Don’t miss the excitement!
