Fireworks at the Grandstand

This year, the fair will mark opening day and closing day with a fireworks spectacular display by Melrose Pyrotechnics. The fireworks will be launched at the grandstand at 9:30pm on opening night, September 25. Opening night fireworks are sponsored by Choice USA, local distributors of Sundrop and RC Cola soft drink products. Closing night fireworks are performed at 10pm, October 4.

Melrose Pyrotechnics is one of the world’s premier fireworks entertainment companies. The company was established in Illinois in the early 1900’s, when a group of Italian immigrants settled in a town called Melrose Park. There, they continued a family tradition of manufacturing and displaying fireworks. They performed at civic and religious festivals. Four generations later, the descendents of these immigrants keep the family craft alive by bringing it into the electronic age. Computers. recording studios and electronic firing systems represent major advancements in the field.
